Claudia Barnes Endorses Rudjard Hayes for District Attorney

TYRONE, GA, JUNE 2, 2008
Claudia Barnes, the wife of late Judge Rowland Barnes, has endorsed Rudjard Hayes for District Attorney for the Griffin Judicial Circuit, which
includes Fayette, Pike, Spalding, and Upson Counties.

Barnes says, “On March 11, 2005, I became a crime victim for the first time when my husband, Judge Barnes, was murdered at work as a Superior Court Judge. Since then, I have realized the importance of having a strong district attorney who will fight for victims and their families. Hayes has proven to me that he has the experience to be an effective prosecutor.

During his 10 years in the Coweta Judicial Circuit
and 2-1/2 years in the Griffin Judicial Circuit as assistant district attorney, Hayes’ record shows that he has prosecuted literally hundreds of felonies, winning all but five trials. “Rudjard is an aggressive prosecutor and strong advocate of victim’s rights, especially when those victims are children,” says Barnes. “I believe he has the experience and moral fiber to be an outstanding district attorney for our area and plan to support him in the Republican Primary on July 15.”
